Peter Caven

THE PRINCIPAL

Peter has served clients as an executive search consultant for more than 20 years and completed more than 300 assignments.  Peter worked with a boutique search firm for 5 years prior to launching his practice in 2001.  

Peter has served clients, from very small to global organizations, in many industry sectors focusing on management consulting and investment management.  Serving clients where they needed assistance, Peter's assignments have ranged from the C-suite to the manager level.

Peter offers a blend of experience and expertise in executive search, management consulting, operations and strategy.  Combined with his highly analytical approach and sound judgment, this enables clients to select from a candidate pool that is of superior quality.

Before entering the executive search profession, Peter was a principal with a management consulting firm.  From 1988 to 1992 Peter was with Canadian Tire Corporation where he implemented a key business strategy and, in a corporate development role, divested operating businesses and developed strategy.  Peter was also a General Manager of one of Petro-Canada’s key business units, Natural Gas Liquids, and he led the logistics function for Western Canada.  Peter spent the initial phase of his career with Esso/Exxon in marketing and operations roles in Canada and the United States.  He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Richard School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science from Bishop's University.

A former co-president of the Toronto Chapter of the Ivey Alumni Association and the executive of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, Peter is also a director of Portage, a not-for-profit organization dealing with addicted youth.

In 2016 Peter founded Launched Careers – a career planning and coaching firm focusing on young professionals.  Since its inception, Peter has coached clients whose educational backgrounds include; Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, Healthcare, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, English Literature, Philosophy and numerous other liberal arts disciplines.

Peter’s clients have joined organizations from start-ups to leading global firms in Canada and the US.
